Various Marlboro Varieties to Choose From
Marlboro is one of the most important brands of cigarettes in the USA, Canada, and worldwide. They can be safely purchased online and from local markets and shops; however, the extensive offer of Marlboro products may confuse you to a certain extent. Here's what you need to know to make a solid distinction between one product and another.
Basically, there are two types of Marlboro cigarettes: 100s and 80s. This refers to the length of the cigarettes in millimeters. More often than not, the 100s have longer filters than the 80s. The 80s are available worldwide, whereas the 100s are limited to some countries.
If we consider strength a factor, Marlboro products can be divided into three major classes: regular strength (8 mg and up), lights (between 4 and 8 mg), and extra light or ultra light (less than 4 mg). You should keep in mind that menthol doesn't really influence tar, even if menthol cigarettes seem lighter in general. Also, bear in mind that some light Marlboro cigarettes are also referred to as "milds" or "medium".
The most commonly known Marlboro cigarette except for the classic Reds is the Light version. It's usually golden or green (not to be confused with menthol cigarettes, generally sold in green packages), but there have been editions featuring blue packs.
A recent edition, called Marlboro Filter Plus, has become very popular due to the successful combination of the original taste with a new, more effective filter. To advertise this version, the manufacturer created a specific pack, easily distinguishable through its large opening in the front. This edition is particularly popular in Europe and North America.
Some special editions, like Marlboro Gold Touch (black package) and Marlboro Gold Fine Touch (white package) have been advertised lately. Those who have tried them commend the excellent balance between tar and smoothness and, also, the perfect moisture of these cigarettes which still resembles that of the original Reds.
